Chip
– 3-Channel –
Three channels are arranged in parallel,
and each channel is separated by a pillar structure.
It can be used for applications such as
the formation of vascular networks and
the evaluation of drug transport across cell layers.
Features
■An inlet shape designed for easy solution introduction
The inlet has a tapered shape to facilitate the introduction of gel solutions.
This allows a pipette tip to be inserted directly into the inlet, making it easy to load solutions.
■Oxygen-permeable film
Because cells are densely packed within the microchannels, the environment is prone to oxygen deficiency.
By using an oxygen-permeable film for the bottom layer, a sufficient amount of oxygen is supplied to support cell survival and maintain their function.
Use cases
■Vascular network formation
By introducing endothelial cells suspended in a gel solution into the gel channel, the cells spontaneously form vascular networks.
■Angiogenesis
By adhering endothelial cells to one wall of the gel and introducing growth factors on the opposite side, angiogenesis is induced.
■Drug transport evaluation
Cells are seeded and cultured on one wall of the gel. After a cell layer has formed, a drug is introduced, allowing evaluation of drug transport from the cell layer → gel layer → culture medium.
